Online Banking Security
At Opus Bank, we are serious about Online Banking Security
We take the protection and security of your account information, transaction data, and privacy very seriously.
Our commitment to your account security and your privacy is ongoing.
We utilize a wide range of security controls to help protect your personal information and transactions to ensure that your account and authorized activity is safeguarded and protected.
Your account security requires us to work together! We are doing our part.
Online security is a collaborative process and it's important that you do two things:
- Keep yourself informed – Cyber Fraud is prevalent and becoming much more sophisticated.
- Improve and maintain at all times the security of your computer systems.
Keeping Technologically Informed
Technology alone will not fully protect you against all cyber fraud and security risks. In recent years, computer scams using email, the internet, and electronic devices have become much more prevalent and sophisticated. Your situational awareness is key to early detection and prevention of online banking scams. We encourage you to read Opus Bank’s Internet Banking Awareness and Education Program for an overview of online banking scams and techniques on how to avoid becoming a victim.
Maintaining Online Banking Security
Opus Bank goes to great lengths to help ensure that security controls over your account are robust and being maintained. However, you also need to provide for the protection of your computer systems by:
- Installing and maintaining current security patches and having up to date AntiVirus software. Refer to your Account Terms and Conditions for further security requirements.
- Verbally confirming emails requesting changes to payment, wire, and ACH instructions originating from a coworker, an approved vendor or a business partner. If the request is from a vendor or a business partner, the phone number you use to verify who you are dealing with or taking direction from should not come from the email request, but should instead come from your known secure contact list of approved vendors or your business partner.
